Consider a circle with a triangle drawn inside it, so that the vertices of the triangle lie on the circle and the sides form chords. Draw a tangent to the circle at one of the vertices. Then the angle between the tangent and one of the chords is equal to the angle in the triangle that lies in the alternate segment.
