As CBGDC B G D is a square, the height of CC above ABA B is the same as that of DD above GHG H, similarly that of CC above DED E is the same as of BB above FGF G. The side lengths of the two blue squares are 252\sqrt{5} and 353\sqrt{5}, so the area of each of the triangles is 12×25×35=15\frac{1}{2} \times 2\sqrt{5} \times 3\sqrt{5} = 15 which means that the area of the shaded region is 3030.
